The Center for Medical Technology Policy (CMTP) and the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) Roundtable on Translating Genomic-Based Research for Health will co-host a workshop with to discuss research methodologies required to demonstrate and assess the clinical validity and clinical utility of molecular diagnostics for oncology. The presentations and discussions will explore the challenges in and identify potential opportunities for advancing the development and use of molecular diagnostic tests that are used to guide the treatment and management of oncology patients. Stakeholders including patients, health care providers, policy makers, payers, diagnostic test developers, researchers, guideline developers, and others will be invited to present their perspectives.
