Christy Williams Wyskiel, a former Managing Director at Maverick Capital, a long-short equity hedge fund with over $12 billion under management, formed CWW Research in December 2009 using her expertise to help start-up healthcare companies. As an equity analyst covering the medical device, diagnostic, life sciences, therapeutics and hospital supply industries, she was a member of Maverick’s healthcare team where she managed healthcare industry investments of both public and private companies. Prior to joining Maverick, she served as an equity analyst at T. Rowe Price and prior to that was an investment banking associate at Cowen & Co.
Christy serves on the Board of Biomarker Strategies, a molecular diagnostic start-up company founded by Johns Hopkins professor Doug Clark, MD. In 2010, Christy cofounded Cureveda, a pharmaceutical company, with Shyam Biswal, PhD, a professor at Johns Hopkins. She also cofounded GrayBug LLC, an ophthalmic drug delivery company, in 2011 with Johns Hopkins professor Justin Hanes.
Christy graduated from Williams College (BA) and the Stern School of Business at New York University (MBA). Christy currently serves on the board of Southwest Baltimore Charter School and of Teach for America – Baltimore. She co-chairs Baltimore’s Next Generation Investing Event, which has raised over $100,000 for two K-8 education initiatives in Baltimore City. She was also recently appointed by Gov. O’Malley to the board of the Maryland State Retirement Plan (MSRP), which oversees $2.1b in defined contribution assets of state employees.
