Demonstrating the Clinical Utility of Next Generation Sequencing in Clinical Oncology
The Green Park Collaborative convened a multi-stakeholder meeting July 7, 2014 to discuss the methods and standards for evaluation of the clinical utility of next generation sequencing (NGS)-based testing in oncology. This meeting kicked off a series of discussions that will take place through the spring of 2015 and will culminate in the creation of an Effectiveness Guidance Document.
Summary & Slides: Hepatitis C Drugs - Evidence to Demonstrate Effectiveness and Value
On July 7, 2014, the Green Park Collaborative (GPC) of the Center for Medical Technology Policy (CMTP) and the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) co-hosted a web conference to explore the evidence needed to demonstrate the effectiveness and value of new drugs to treat chronic hepatitis C (HCV) infection.
Enhanced Recovery Meeting Summary
June 10, 2014, with initial support from Edwards Life Sciences, CMTP hosted a multi-stakeholder forum to discuss accelerated adoption of enhanced recovery protocols (ERP) for high risk surgical patients.

Partnership in Applied Comparative Effectiveness Science (PACES)
The PACES initiative sought to further the development of patient centered outcomes research (PCOR) in the FDA. The project was designed to help the agency build expertise in the analytic tools, methods and best practices, so that staff could be better equipped to work with sponsors, and other federal agencies, as they design and evaluate PCOR. Funded by the FDA, PACES was a partnership between the FDA, Johns Hopkins University, General Dynamics IT, the Lewin Group, and CMTP.
Adaptive Licensing & CED Workshop (November 2011)
Summary of workshop held November 2011 to explore the barriers and potential solutions of aligning adaptive licensing with coverage with evidence development (CED).
ATHENA Breast Health Network
This partnership seeks to revolutionize breast cancer care and molecular diagnostics by merging research, technology, financing and health care delivery to reduce the time needed to translate research findings into patient care. CMTP led the Biomarker Stakeholder Advisory Group, developed a business plan for sustainable partnerships between ATHENA and other health care stakeholders, and advised on proposed CER projects to identify best treatments for women with low, medium and high-risk breast tumors.

A summary of the 2010 CER Summit which addressed building a strategic framework for research in oncology.
Medicare Data United with Simple Clinical Trials Expanded (May 2011)
This collaborative 'network of networks ' was formed to provide the research infrastructure for trials to study comparative effectiveness of therapeutics in the treatment and management of chronic diseases. CMTP led a workshop on CER in Osteoporosis in May 2011.
Designing More Informative Clinical Trials for New Indications of Oncology Drugs, November 2009
CMTP hosted a one day Think Tank on November 12, 2009 with more than 60 experts and stakeholders to reach consensus on better ways to more frequently and consistently design, fund, and implement prospective clinical studies of new indications for oncology drugs that will be more informative to post-regulatory decisionmakers.
Methodological Guidance for the Design of Pragmatic Pharmaceutical Clinical Trials, May 2009
Summary of a meeting held in May 2009 of a multi-stakeholder workgroup brought together by Center for Medical Technology Policy (CMTP) to characterize recurring gaps in evidence that are often not sufficiently addressed in regulatory trials, explore the reason for these gaps, and begin to elucidate potential solutions.
Developing Evidence of Effectiveness and Value: Lessons from Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiography , October 2008
Summary of a meeting from fall 2008 convened by CMTP of a 'think tank ' of experts and stakeholders to discuss lessons to be learned from the CCTA experience. The backdrop for this meeting was the emergence of newer cardiac imaging technologies and a major new national initiative to compare the effectiveness of alternative technologies that are intended for the same purpose.
